A better future with specialist care treatment

10:42am Monday 7th July 2008

WITH more than a 1,000 beds and hospitals across England and Wales, Partnerships in Care is the pre-eminent provider of specialist psychiatric care and treatment.

In north Essex, Partnerships in Care has two facilities, Oaktree Manor, a 48-bed learning disability service in Tendring, and Elm Park in Ardleigh, a 23-bed facility for men and women with acquired brain injuries.

Oaktree Manor works in conditions of low security, with many patients detained under an appropriate section of the Mental Health Act.

The clinical services delivered by nurses, care workers, psychiatrists, psychologists and others focuses on meeting the needs of men and women with learning disabilities and associated disorders.

Oaktree Manor is a forward-looking hospital providing excellent services to a very needy group of men and women.

Elm Park has developed an enviable reputation for very high-quality care and treatment for men and women with acquired brain injuries.

For those unfortunate enough to suffer a brain injury, the consequences can manifest themselves in many ways, including physical impairment, speech and language disorders, difficulties in concentration and, very sadly, conduct disorders.

Working intensively with a full multi-disciplinary team, Elm Park aims to help patients overcome the very serious consequence of head injury and move along a pathway of care from a low secure hospital to a community-based service.
